The Retreat is CAMRA Pub of the Year 2026 Runner-up!

We are delighted to announce that The Retreat has been awarded runner-up in the Reading & Mid-Berkshire CAMRA Pub of the Year Competition 2026!

CAMRA praised The Retreat for its well-kept real ales, live music and welcoming atmosphere, describing it as one of Reading’s last traditional backstreet pubs.

A big thank you to CAMRA for this recognition and to all our wonderful customers and friends who continue to make The Retreat such a special place.
