The Retreat opened as a public house in 1875 and has been serving the community ever since.
Today the pub is managed by the resident Landlord and Licensee Brian Moignard. The tenancy was secured by three local residents: Dave Gray, Di Whitaker and Mark Birmingham in 2019.
